NHS and TRI-M Induct New Members
This Monday, October 8th, National Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society had a lovely joint induction ceremony.
The 15 new members admitted this year to NHS were selected based on their excellent academic record, commitment to giving back their community, and adherence to NHS's four pillars. These pillars are Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service.
Scholarship is academic excellence. That indicates a 3.7 GPA or higher.
Leadership is the ability to lead a group of people and have fresh and new ideas
Character is the individual’s integrity, looking at honesty and courtesy and other important qualities that make cooperation possible
Service is exactly what it sounds like, service. Students servicing their school and their community through voluntary work.
Through our selection of 15 excellent students this year, we are trying to show that these students are people who not only possess the academic excellence but also the ability to serve others with a loving heart. Our honor society puts the focus on serving others because the community as we know it, has shaped us in some way, molded us into the human being that we now currently are.
